Fort Lauderdale, Fla. (November 10, 2014) – The first full day of the CruiseOneNational Conference aboard Regal Princess started with a riveting general session, which included a welcome address from CruiseOne Senior Vice President Debbie Fiorino, remarks by Princess Cruises® and Cunard Line Vice President Brian O’Connor and Keri Rivera of Make-A-Wish® America, as well as an interactive panel discussion with cruise line executives.
As the first presenter, Fiorino generated excitement among the attendees with inspirational quotes, videos, a recap of the past year and a preview of what’s to come in the future. In keeping with the conference theme of GROWTH – Gaining Relationships & Opportunities through WTH, she focused on the advantages of being affiliated with travel industry powerhouse World Travel Holdings and how agents can leverage this important relationship.
Fiorino noted “GROWTH is the perfect acronym for the relationships and opportunities you [agents] are able to leverage through your partnership with World Travel Holdings. WTH is the foundation for your growth and the team looks forward to continuing to help you achieve great success. Our affiliation with World Travel Holdings has given us many unique opportunities.”
Following the welcoming remarks, Keri Rivera, corporate alliances manager at Make-A-Wish America, the signature charity of CruiseOne and World Travel Holdings for the fourth year in a row, addressed the crowd. Rivera shared the impact of a wish experience and highlighted the different fundraising opportunities taking place throughout the week including Zumba@Sea – Dance For Wishes sponsored by Celebrity Cruises, prize drawings, silent auctions and more.
A cruise line executive panel was then hosted by David Crooks, senior vice president of product and operations for World Travel Holdings, and included the following panelists:
- Brian O’Connor – vice president, North American sales, Princess Cruises® and Cunard Line
- Shanel Knight-Tarver – program manager, home-based accounts, Norwegian Cruise Line®
- Michelle Homoky – sales director, Celebrity Cruises®

This year’s weeklong annual event focuses on the personal and professional development of agents with the theme of GROWTH – Gaining Relationships and Opportunities through WTH at the forefront. Throughout the week, agents will be attending interactive workshops, listening to motivational speakers, participating in teambuilding exercises and conversing with key executives from World Travel Holdings, cruise lines and land vendors.
