Fort Lauderdale, Fla. (November 18, 2014) – The concluding days of the CruiseOne National Conference aboard Regal Princess® gave agents a final opportunity to mingle with cruise line executives, receive updates on innovative new support programs being launched at corporate headquarters and learn new business-building skills to implement when they return home. It was also announced to attendees that the 2015 CruiseOne and Cruises Inc. National Conference will take place on board Norwegian Escape®.
In addition to the video asset library announcement made on Friday morning, CruiseOne agents learned from the corporate headquarters team about new support tools offered in IT, consumer marketing and business development. As a result of an incremental half-million dollar investment in 2014, the IT team has built a solid foundation that is best-in-class and built new processes that will have long-term positive effects on program enhancements and new projects moving forward, such as online group registration, land e-invoices, customizable e-quoting and more. In addition, the IT and marketing teams worked closely together to create an automated direct mail marketing program that targets the most qualified recipients.
Serving as the master of ceremonies all week, Drew Daly, general manager of network engagement & performance, painted a picture of how agents can use the newly rebranded business development team to implement all the tools and knowledge they gained over the course of the week and continue their “GROWTH” when they return home. He stressed the importance of becoming more than a travel agent to customers by having a voice in the community and inspiring others to have enriching experiences with those closest to them.
Taking that messaging to heart, agents raised nearly $65,000 for Make-A-Wishby participating in several fundraisers on-board. Agents not only partied for a cause in St. Maarten at the second annual “Zumba@Sea – Dance For Wishes” sponsored by Celebrity Cruises®, but they could win prizes such as cruises, iPads, wine and more in a silent auction and other onboard activities.
Professional and personal growth workshops throughout the week provided attendees an interactive environment to develop their skills. Workshops offered the last two days included:
- Stuart Cohen’s 25 Best Tips for Achieving Remarkable Loyalty
- Using Video to Grow Your Business
- The Paperless Office and Beyond
- Selling Land Packages

“Passion is the key to success in any industry and after spending a week at sea, it is clear that our CruiseOne and Cruises Inc. agents are the most passionate agents in the industry,” said Debbie Fiorino, senior vice president of CruiseOne. “All week long they demonstrated a thirst for knowledge to learn industry updates, business strategies and customer engagement techniques. I am confident that everybody – agents and headquarter employees – are walking away this week with new ideas to make our conference theme of GROWTH become a reality.”
This year’s weeklong annual event hosted by CruiseOne focuses on the personal and professional development of agents with the theme of GROWTH – Gaining Relationships and Opportunities through WTH at the forefront. Throughout the week, agents will be attending interactive workshops, listening to motivational speakers, participating in teambuilding exercises and conversing with key executives from World Travel Holdings, cruise lines and land vendors.
